Fusion Kidney Tonic contains goji berries and horny goat weed, traditionally used to strengthen the kidneys in Chinese medicine. Plus rehmannia, traditionally taken in Chinese medicine to maintain healthy fluid balance and urine output if kidney yin is deficient.

Features and benefits

In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), the kidneys do more than regulate the body’s fluids; they also keep the opposing forces of yin and yang in balance and store the life force energy known as jing, which declines as we get older.

Fusion Kidney Tonic includes:

  • Goji berries, traditionally used to strengthen the kidneys, balance yin and yang, and invigorate jing, plus relieve fatigue when kidney yang is deficient in TCM
  • Rehmannia, traditionally taken as a kidney tonic and to regulate the body fluids if kidney yin is deficient in TCM
  • Horny goat weed, traditionally used as a kidney tonic, and to maintain healthy fluid balance and relieve urinary frequency when kidney yang is deficient in TCM

How it works

Fusion Kidney Tonic is based on an ancient Chinese herbal formula called Six-Ingredient Rehmannia Pill that was originally developed around 900 years ago.

Fusion Kidney Tonic’s key ingredients include rehmannia, horny goat weed and goji berry, which are traditionally used to tonify the kidneys in TCM.

Based on their traditional use in Chinese medicine, each of these herbs also has additional benefits for the kidney organ-meridian system.

Goji berries

Goji berries are traditionally regarded as an important herb for the kidneys in Chinese medicine, where they’ve been used for around 2300 years [1]. They are traditionally used in TCM to support the health of the kidneys.

In TCM, a healthy kidney organ-meridian system is traditionally believed to keep the opposing forces of yin and yang in balance. Goji berries are traditionally taken to nourish both yin and yang balancing these two opposing forces to help keep them in a state of harmony in the body.

Other traditional uses of goji berries in Chinese medicine are to strengthen jing (a form of life-force energy that’s traditionally believed to be stored in the kidneys and to decline with age). Goji berries are also traditionally used in TCM as a kidney tonic and to relieve fatigue when kidney yang is deficient.

Goji berries are also traditionally taken to support vitality and relieve mild dizziness and menopausal night sweats, which can occur when kidney yin is deficient in TCM.

From a scientific perspective, goji berries have antioxidant properties to help reduce free radical formation in the body.

Rehmannia

When kidney yin is deficient, rehmannia is traditionally taken in TCM to support kidney health, balance body fluids, maintain healthy urine output and reduce menopausal night sweats.

Rehmannia is also traditionally used in TCM to invigorate jing, and as a blood tonic that helps relieve sleeplessness and irregular menstruation.

Horny goat weed

If there is a kidney yang deficiency, horny goat weed is traditionally known for its ability to act as a kidney tonic to support kidney function, as well as to help regulate body fluids, relieve urinary frequency and promote healthy libido.

It’s also traditionally used in TCM to enhance bone strength and relieve mild joint aches and pains.

Fusion Kidney Tonic also contains Cornelian cherry, Chinese yam, alisma and poria.
